The Manussasiha has been used in ancient time by the Mon king of Sudhammawati (Suvannabhumi) kingdom in 400 BC. The symbol is a synergized body of two arahants, Sona Thera and Uttara Thera, dispelling sea ghosts off the coastline of Sudhammawati during the first Buddhism propagation mission in South East Asia. Manussasiha is a highly regard symbol in South East Asia, especially in Myanmar and Northern Thailand, where the symbol can be found in major pagodas, notably at the Shwedagon pagoda in Yangon, which actually built and maintained by the Mon kings and civilians.

Note: a copy of Uttama Foundation registration announcement appeared on the Royal Thai Government Gazette, dated 6th March 2008 (Book 125 Part 28 Ngor).

Uttama Foundation is a registered non-profit organization in Thailand since 2007, focusing on dhamma, education, health, livelihood, and social welfare.
